Known Issues ======================================================================== This release contains the following known issues: 7.1 Installing, Upgrading or Uninstalling ===================================================================== a. You must completely uninstall the Immunize feature of Spybot Search & Destroy before starting to install Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. b. Installing the Trend Micro Internet Security Pro drivers and starting the services can take more than seven minutes. c. When upgrading from a Trend Micro Internet Security 2007, you must upgrade the primary installation of the software first. d. Uninstalling Trend Micro Internet Security Pro and restarting the computer fails to remove the Trend Micro TMTDI file from the Windows Device Manager. e. Upgrades from Trend Micro AntiVirus or Trend Micro Internet Security to Trend Micro Internet Security Pro will not work if the original software has a build number higher than that of the desired software. 7.2 Automatic Updates ===================================================================== a. The active update feature will not work if other Trend Micro software running on your computer uses the Unauthorized Change Prevention features. b. The Trend Micro Internet Security Pro main console masks the progress window of the first update after installation. 7.3 Real-Time Protection ===================================================================== a. Inserting a Layered Service Provider can cause Trend Micro Internet Security Pro to crash. b. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro cannot back up files infected with viruses if those files have long names. c. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro allows Web browser cookies into the list of Unwanted Programs, as well as the lists of Trusted Web Browser Cookies or Unwanted Web Browser Cookies. If a cookie appears in the Unwanted Programs list and the list of Trusted Web Browser Cookies, the Trusted Web Browser Cookies list takes precedence. d. Suspected spyware reported as removed successfully from a network folder may remain inside the folder. e. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro can only disable, rather than automatically remove, spyware that you have downloaded into a specific folder using Internet Explorer. f. The "Get Help Now" button on the "Trojan horse program found" warning does not open a help page. 7.4 Scheduled and Custom Scans ===================================================================== a. Scans for security threats stopped while in progress sometimes cannot successfully complete. b. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro cannot display the time of the most recent scan after a forced shutdown of Windows Vista. 7.5 Unauthorized Change Prevention ===================================================================== Attempting to run a program on the list of Unwanted Programs can trigger three simultaneous warning messages. 7.6 Logs ===================================================================== a. The Protection Against Web Threats log appears as the Parental Controls log. b. If you click "Allow" in response to warnings triggered by the "Prevent Unauthorized Changes" feature, Trend Micro Internet Security Pro does not log the changes you have allowed. c. The Software History Cleaner logs may contain two or four entries for a single item. 7.7 Firewall ===================================================================== Trend Micro Internet Security Pro cannot import Personal Firewall profiles from the previous version. 7.8 Trend Micro Anti-Spam Toolbar ===================================================================== Messages reported as spam in Microsoft Outlook go into the Drafts folder briefly before getting sent to the mail server. 7.9 Other ===================================================================== a. Opening the main console of Trend Micro Internet Security Pro automatically takes Internet Explorer out of "Work Offline" mode. b. If your computer reaches the Internet through a proxy server that requires a user name and password, then Trend Micro Internet Security Pro cannot display some warning messages. Saving the proxy server user name and password in the main console of Trend Micro Internet Security does not solve the problem. 7.10 Pro Services Console ===================================================================== a. If you activate Trend Micro Internet Security Pro after installation, the Pro Services console will prompt you to initialize services only after you restart the computer. b. Because this version does not include a scroll bar, adding future service components might extend the list beyond the display area of the window. c. If your computer runs Microsoft Windows XP, you must provide credentials for an account with Administrator privileges to launch the Pro Services console. d. The location of the Pro Services console logs depends on the account used to launch the console and your computer's operating system: WINDOWS XP C:\Documents and Settings\[ACCOUNT NAME]\Local Settings \Application Data\Trend Micro\TrendSecure\Log WINDOWS VISTA C:\Users\[ACCOUNT NAME]\AppData\Local\Trend Micro \TrendSecure\Log 7.11 Remote File Lock 3.0 ===================================================================== a. You cannot modify the email address provided during initialization. To change the email address, you must reinstall Remote File Lock. b. Remote File Lock treats files that you delete or move from the vault as "copied" files, and retains a copy of each one in the vault. c. The right-click options displayed for files in the vault may not match options displayed when you right-click files outside the vault. d. You cannot copy shortcuts into the vault. e. You will see fewer properties displayed when hovering your mouse cursor over files or folders in the vault than you would for files outside the vault. f. Only the person who installed Remote File Lock can use this service component. Anyone logging into Windows using a different account cannot access the vault. 7.12 System Tuner 1.0 ===================================================================== a. After tuning up a computer, System Tuner may still find DHTML files in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder used by Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. b. System Tuner cannot identify, parse, and delete entries in the Mozilla Firefox browser history. c. The 64-bit version of System Tuner installed on computers running the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Windows Vista cannot scan for registry entries used by 32-bit programs. For that reason, the 64-bit version of System Tuner cannot identify autostart settings used by some 32-bit software. d. System Tuner may detect autostart entries for Trend Micro programs that do not have digital signatures issued by Trend Micro (usually older software or pre-release versions). e. System Tuner does not display a message if it fails to deal with an item found during the diagnostic check. For this reason, you may find later that the tune-up results differ from the results of the diagnostic check. f. System Tuner deletes browser history entries only if you choose to delete all entries. g. You must log into the computer with Administrator privileges to launch System Tuner. System Tuner can only tune up the settings of an account with Administrator privileges. h. System Tuner cannot delete "read-only" temporary files. 7.13 Total Recovery 3.0 ===================================================================== a. Folder information may appear in the descriptions of automatic snapshots if you have modified the "%TMP%" environment variable. b. Descriptions of manual and automatic snapshots may display in a truncated format. c. After you restore your computer, Microsoft Outlook may display the following message: "Outlook is using an old copy of your Offline Folder file." You can continue using Microsoft Outlook normally after closing this message. d. If you use other backup applications, make sure that these backup applications preserve your hard disk's Master Boot Record (MBR). If they do not, uninstall Total Recovery before attempting to restore your computer using these backup applications. Otherwise, your computer will not work properly after the restoration. e. Total Recovery may take several hours to initialize on a computer with very fragmented disk drives. Defragment all of your computer's drives before initializing Total Recovery to avoid this problem. Consult the Windows Help & Support Center to get assistance with defragmentation. f. Some computers store critical functions in memory locations used by Total Recovery. If initializing Total Recovery would cause a conflict, the initialization process automatically shuts down and Total Recovery disables itself. If you receive a warning about this potential conflict, remove Total Recovery from your computer. 7.14 Transaction Protector 1.0 ===================================================================== a. If you have enabled the Keystroke Encryption (kdfmgr.exe) feature, opening Internet Explorer might make the Windows User Access Control system ask for your credentials again. Neglecting to provide your credentials in this case will trigger an error message. b. Transaction Protector currently does not support multiple wireless network cards. c. Transaction Protector uses the Microsoft Windows WLAN API. If your wireless network relies on other software to make or manage connections, then the wireless network functions of Transaction Protector will not work. d. Transaction Protector cannot detect the status of a wireless network card switched off with a driver utility (typically the software came with the card or your computer) or a hardware switch. As a result, Transaction Protector may appear fully functional even when unable to use the Wi-Fi Advisor. e. When connecting to a wireless network not in the preferred networks list, the Transaction Protector uses a temporary profile that disappears from the Windows wireless network manager once you disconnect from the network. f. Transaction Protector requires the "Wireless LAN API" update for Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, which you can download from here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918997 8.
