Trend Micro to Help Protect Small Business Online Retail Sites Against Cybercrime

Marlow, UK – June 2nd, 2008 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704), a global leader in Internet content security, announced today Worry-Free SecureSite, a hosted solution that helps assure consumers of the safety and integrity of the web servers behind small business online retail sites.

Backed by Trend Micro’s worldwide team of security experts, supported by Trend Micro’s extensive network of experienced channel partners and scanned daily by Trend Micro’s SecureSite hosted web application vulnerability monitoring solution, small business online retailers will be better able to assure a safer buying experience for their customers.

Trend Micro’s hosted SecureSite solution complements existing SSL encryption technologies to make online transactions more secure by scanning websites once a day for existing and emerging web application vulnerabilities. For example, SecureSite will monitor web application vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, information leaks, XPath injection, bot attacks as well as a broad range of other vulnerabilities which may arise as website content changes or a new functionality is added.

If vulnerabilities are found, online retailers may engage either in-house IT or Trend Micro channel partners to remediate found vulnerabilities with guidance provided by TrendLabs worldwide network of security experts. Online retailers that do not remediate appropriately will lose the opportunity to display the Trend Micro SecureSite monitoring symbol on their website.
